Value Streams

Five value streams. One performance system.

The same discipline in each — ownership, workflow design, governance, evidence and measurement — adapted to how the work actually runs. The offer is chosen from the constraint, not from a preferred industry.

You buy a stream as a paid diagnostic, a Shadow Mode proof, then managed operation of one workflow under governance you control.

What we mean by a value stream

We use the term in its original sense: every activity required to deliver an outcome to a customer — the work that adds value and the work that does not. That second half is the point. Most of what limits performance is not the work itself but the waiting, rework, handoffs and exceptions around it, and you cannot see any of that by looking at one department.

Each of the five below is a family of end-to-end streams rather than a function. Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management is the order-to-cash stream in healthcare. Finance Operations covers order-to-cash and procure-to-pay. Insurance Operations covers submission-to-bind and first-notice-to-settlement. Revenue Growth is lead-to-cash. Customer Operations is request-to-resolution and onboarding-to-first-value.

How a stream gets delivered

Diagnostic — including the judgment of whether a workflow's data can actually support AI — and the process-and-people components of Delivery are Fortress's own team, always. We never outsource the diagnosis. Where the recurring work depends on technology, Fortress helps you integrate it into a platform you already run; where it calls for a more complex build or hosting, Fortress connects you with a vetted partner from its own ecosystem to build and run it, under a direct agreement between you and that partner.

How to choose

Find the constraint first. Then pick the stream.

A queue in a function is a value stream. Ownership and decision rights are the operating model. An empty or overloaded seat is Fractional COO. Hiring for Lean, continuous improvement, transformation or operational excellence is a service signal — not a staffing brief.

Value Stream

Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management

The order-to-cash stream · the revenue you earned, actually collected.

Denials · Underpayments · A/R follow-up · Eligibility · Prior authorization · Claim status

Fits when a group, MSO or small regional system has a denial or A/R queue large enough to own, and a CFO or VP of revenue cycle who can sit the weekly review.

Value Stream

Insurance Operations

Submission-to-bind and first-notice-to-settlement.

Claims intake and triage · Underwriting support · Policy administration · Renewals · MGA operations

Fits when an MGA, regional carrier, wholesale desk or PE agency platform is capped by throughput, not by demand.

Value Stream

Revenue Growth

The lead-to-cash stream · a commercial engine you can actually forecast.

Pipeline · Conversion · Handoffs · Pricing · Retention · Commercial reporting

Fits when mid-market growth still lives in people and relationships, and the commercial process has not been designed.

Value Stream

Customer Operations

Request-to-resolution and onboarding-to-first-value.

Onboarding · Intake · Classification · Routing · Knowledge · Escalation

Fits when contact volume grows with the book — onboarding, intake, exceptions — and quality already varies by site or shift.

Value Stream

Finance Operations

Order-to-cash and procure-to-pay.

A/R · Collections · A/P · Invoice handling · Reconciliation · Close support

Fits when close, cash or invoice-to-cash is still assembled by hand across entities — after an add-on, ahead of a transaction, or under a lender's eye.

Not every constraint is a workflow.

Sometimes it's the operating model, and sometimes it's the seat. These are standalone services — bought on their own terms, not a route into operating a workflow.

Not sure which stream is yours?

Twenty minutes on the problem. Bring the queue, the number, or the hire that is costing you. No deck. No PHI. If the constraint is structural or the seat, we will say so.

The session is free. The diagnostic is not.
